  • became a band leader and became host of his own radio show: Let's Dance 
  • he also had a famous combo called the Benny Goodman Trio with drummer Gene Krupa
  • went on a famous US tour which ended in Los Angeles, CA. at the Palomar Ballroom 
  • this final concert was broadcast throughout the United States and made swing jazz extremely popular
  • most people call this the beginning of the Swing Jazz Era
